SUGi

1% for Biodiversity

Whirld is excited to announce that it is partnering with SUGi by donating 1% of our sales to support their biodiversity projects.

The SUGi Project restores urban ecosystems by planting pocket forests.

These ultra-dense, biodiverse forests are established in cities worldwide using the Miyawaki method, a Japanese technique that promotes rapid and sustainable forest growth.

By planting native species in small urban spaces, these pocket forests enhance biodiversity, improve climate resilience, and foster community well-being.

Founded in 2019, SUGi has expanded its efforts to over 200 projects across the world. Each pocket forest serves as a habitat for various species, contributes to decarbonisation, and provides green spaces for urban populations.

In the United Kingdom, SUGi has implemented several pocket forests, such as the one near London’s Southbank Centre, transforming urban areas into thriving natural environments.

The pocket forests not only enhance biodiversity but also serve as educational hubs, allowing local residents to reconnect with nature.
